The SoLa I CAN Foundation has partnered with Live Nation Entertainment to train a new generation of black and brown industry professionals from South LA. Live Nation Next Gen participants explore various career pathways in the live music industry through a multi-week series that includes guest speakers and hands-on activities. Throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to practice their newly acquired skills as they
produce a music festival of their own.

This program aims to provide a deep look into “live”, the exciting world of concerts and music festivals. At the end of the 6-month program, every student will have comprehensive knowledge of booking, production, merchandise, sponsorships, ticketing, and much more!

What is Next Gen?

Next Gen is a series of concerts and music festivals curated with the help of our young apprentices. All of these are hosted at the beautiful SoLa Beehive right here in South Los Angeles.

From the start of every session, each cohort is tasked with bringing a new festival vision to life. Each vision is conjured entirely from scratch by the cohort and they work as a collective to curate an experience that emphasizes and highlights it in every sense!  The first of these festivals was When You Grow Up Fest in August of 2022. Though each event and theme may differ, the foundation remains the same.
